Erectile dysfunction medicines took in Glengormley

8 April 2011

Large quantities of unlicensed medicines have been taken by Department of Health officials during a search of a home in Glengormley.

A guy was by department officers about unlawfully importing and consequently providing unlicensed impotence medicines via the web.

The 47-year-old was also questioned about other medicine offences.

He will now be the subject of a report to the general public Prosecution Service.

The search was carried out by the department's Medicines Regulatory Group.

Its senior enforcement workplace, Peter Moore, stated: "It is essential that we get the message throughout that unlicensed medications can be harmful.

"These kinds of items being sold, generally online, have undergone no quality control and there can be no warranty about their security.

"You simply do not understand what you are taking or the conditions these items were made in. More significantly, you do not understand the impact drugs like this may have on your health."
